Junko Matsukawa-Tsuchida

Junko Matsukawa-Tsuchida is an architect and regional planner based in Tokyo, Japan. She earned several degrees from the University of Tokyo and is currently the Chair and representative director of the Laboratory for Innovators of Quality of Life. She has an extensive record of professional service, having served first as Vice-chair and later as President of the Union Internationale des Femmes Architectes (UIFA) Japon. She has also served as Chair of the Women’s Architecture Committee of the Tokyo Society of Architects and Building Engineers and as Executive Chair of the Planning Committee for the 1998 UIFA Japon Convention. Matsukawa-Tsuchida is a long-time advisor to the board of the International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) and has both published and spoken extensively on the topic of women in architecture.
